Burren Rocks Eco Awards

The Burren and Cliffs of Moher Geopark and Burren Ecotourism Network were the big winners in this year's Responsible Travel & Tourism Awards.

Other winners included the Croke Park Hotel Dublin, Radisson Blu Royal Hotel Dublin, Fitzgeralds Woodlands House Hotel, Adare, Co Limerick and Buswells Hotel, Dublin. 
 
 The winners were announced by Paschal Donohoe TD, Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport at the Green Hospitality Programme (GHP) National Conference in Dublin.
 
Network members and the Geopark itself claimed the overall prize in nine  of 24 categories in the competition, which is designed to identify and celebrate businesses that are committed to implementing responsible business practices to reduce their environmental impact. The awards, which were judged by a panel of experts led by GHP Chairperson Duncan Stewart, were open to any business that operates within the Travel, Tourism and Hospitality industry.

Bikers Support Cancer Charity

The first annual Doolin Harley Festival which saw 200 Harley Davidson owners from across Ireland, the UK and USA descend on the North Clare village raised €37,589 for loca

 The announcement was made by the event organisers who set up a foundation in the memory of local woman Marie Clancy who sadly passed away from ovarian cancer earlier this year.

Ireland Scores at 'W' Awards

Tourism Ireland’s global marketing website, Ireland.com, scooped three awards at the recent W³ Awards in New York, which recognise creative excellence on the web.
 The W³ Awards, now in their ninth year, are well regarded in the United States (similar to the Webby Awards), attracting more than 4,000 entries this year. The judging panel – the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts – honours outstanding websites, web marketing, web video, mobile sites/apps and social content created worldwide.
 Tourism Ireland picked up the following awards:
-       gold for its Wild Atlantic Way website design
-       silver for visual appeal of its Wild Atlantic Way website
-       and a silver for its St Patrick’s Day campaign, including social content and promotion
