Top USRadio Show at Dromoland

America’s most recognised and respected travel expert, and travel editor of
CBS News, Peter Greenberg, hosted his radio show from Dromoland Castle this week.  The
show will broadcast to a massive audience of approximately 3 million listeners on 400 radio
stations across the United States.  It focuses on holidays and travel tips for the West of
Ireland and includes interviews with six local people working in the tourism industry, including
Tony Kirby of Heart of Burren Walks, the Bunratty Castle entertainers, Margaret
O’Shaughnessy of Foynes Flying Boat Museum, genealogist Annette O’Brien and ‘foodie’
Peter O’Brien of Country Choice in Nenagh.

The visit of Peter Greenberg and the CBS crew was arranged by Tourism Ireland and Fáilte
Ireland, in association with Shannon Development.  Peter Greenberg broadcasts his radio
show from different locations around the world each week, offering plenty of helpful travel
advice and recommendations.

In addition to the radio broadcast, Greenberg will feature in ten videos which are being filmed
this week for the AARP – the American Association of Retired Persons, which has
approximately 40 million members aged 50+ across the US.  The theme of the ten videos is
‘Travel to the West of Ireland’ and footage will be captured in counties Clare, Limerick,
Galway and Kerry.  These videos will feature on the AARP website and will be shown this
autumn on the Tourism Ireland stand at the popular AARP Life @ 50 show in Orlando, which
attracts about 25,000 visitors each year.
