Awards for CIE Tour Hosts

CIE Tours International hopes to recover this following an unusual fall off in passenger numbers in 2015.

Managing Director Brian Stack, who retires this year said

“We are pleased to say that bookings for 2016 have been going well and we are looking forward to exceeding 2015 levels of business despite external matters such as global terrorism threats and market fluctuations.

He was speaking at the annual Awards of Excellence presented to 98 suppliers who achieve more than 90% satisfaction rates from CIE Tours guests.

The prestigious awards were presented by the CIE Chairman, Vivienne Jupp at a special ceremony in Dublin Castle when it was revealed that the visitors carried by CIE Tours generated revenues of €83 million.

Advice Centre at Hospitality Expo

busadv Like any business, managers and proprietors in the Hospitality Sector face a range of business problems many of which are outside their experience or training and for which the best course of action is to see

It’s not surprising, therefore, that the Business Advice Centre was given as the reason for attending Hospitality Expo when last held by many of those attending.

At this year’s event in the RDS on 3rd and 4th February DIT College of Catering will again provide a Business Advice Centre with a range of one to one advice or mentoring sessions on the various topics listed below together with a series of seminars and presentations in the Sills and Training Theatre.

Launched last year the new ‘Welcome Standard’ gives quirky and innovative tourist accommodation businesses a chance to gain Fáilte Ireland quality and standards seal of approval. Almost 200 premises have been approved to date, and 100 more are live for approval.
