Harvey's Point again No1 in Ireland

This is a remarkable achievement for the hotel which also took the ‘No 1 in Ireland’ title in 2013, 2014 and 2015.
Harvey’s Point Hotel was also ranked ‘13th Best Hotel in Europe in the 2016 TripAdvisor  Awards.
 
Other hotels in the Top Five were Ashford Castle (2), The Merrion(3), Castle Durrow (4) and the River Lee Hotel,Cork (5).
Harvey’s Point Deirdre Mc Glone was (pictured with her husband Marc Gysling and general manager Noel Cunningham) was ‘over the moon’ when she learned the news on the day that she was named 'Donegal Person of the Year'
‘The entire team is absolutely delighted at this four successive years  of successes’, she said. ‘We are very grateful to all our guests who posted reviews on TripAdvisor and for their very positive comments. It was a lovely New Year gift.'
General manager Noel Cunningham said that the hotel has exciting plans for the coming year. ‘We have wonderful Activity Breaks and of course our Summer Cabaret’
 
Another big winner was Castlewood House in Dingle, Co Kerry, which TripAdvisor placed 20th in the world, 13th in Europe and No1 in Ireland within the bargain category.
 
TripAdvisor’s James Kay said: “These awards are based on guest feedback.
 
“So what sets the winners apart is not just a high standard of service and accommodation, but the fact that they deliver this day in and day out.
 
“Demand for rooms at the winning hotels is likely to rise, so travellers should book early on TripAdvisor to see for themselves why travellers raved so much.”
 
 
In the B&B category, Kate’s Place B&B in Doolin, Co Clare, is Ireland’s No1, while The Merrion Hotel in Dublin is top of the pile in the high-end luxury hotel market.
 
Overall, Ireland’s best performing town is Killarney, Co Kerry, home to 12 winning properties in this year’s awards.
 
The Umaid Bhawan Palace hotel in Jodhpur, India – where rooms cost £509 a night – took the world hotel title in the website’s survey.
