Doha to WAW

A group of media and social media influencers from Qatar and Australia have arrived in Ireland via Qatar Airways new flights from Doha to Dublin for a press trip to learn more

 A tailored visit has been designed by Fáilte Ireland in conjunction with Tourism Ireland to promote Ireland to the Qatar influencers that included Mrs Universe 2014 Yezenia Navarro, model and fashion influencer Nuha Al Samarae and Rachel Morris, Qutar food blogger and four Australian media to get a deeper knowledge of Ireland for their followers and readers.

'Brothers' expand

 Garrett Fitzgerald has announced that his Capel Street cafés Brother Hubbard North and Little Brother will be expanding into the former Gary Rhodes restaurant next door on the corner of Capel Street and Mary's Abbey, most recently known as Brasserie 7.
The expansion will form a new interconnected business which will retain the Brother Hubbard North name upon its opening in Autumn.
 

Oxford First for Irish Food

 Fáilte Ireland supported a reception and welcome dinner at the  Oxford Symposium on Food & Cookery, an annual weekend-long conference on food, its culture and its history

 The oldest and most important gathering on this topic, Oxford Symposium on Food & Cookery brings together up to 265 international scholars, journalists, chefs, scientists, sociologists, anthropologists — and even committed amateurs — among others, for a serious discussion on a specific food related theme. The theme of this year’s conference focuses on the relationship between food and the landscape and promises three days of convivial exchange of ideas and information over great food.
 
The banquet, coordinated by Fáilte Ireland Food Champion Olivia Duff, and Chairperson of the Boyne Valley Food Series, introduced the attendees to the complex historical layers of the Boyne Valley in Ireland with all the food and drinks for the event coming from the region. The banquet itself was prepared by a team of four Ireland’s Ancient East chefs -  Rob Krawczyk (ex-Tankardstown House), Mary Farrell (Wicklow), Ryan McGivery (Drogheda) and Dearbhla Moriarty (Navan) and local Fáilte Ireland Food Champion Olivia Duff gave a 15 minute presentation on the Ireland’s Ancient East brand and the Boyne Valley Food Series supported by a three minute video showcasing Ireland’s landscape and its food which has been created by award winning videographers The Perennial Plate.

One of China’s largest e-commerce startups Mogujie, which is a fashion and lifestyle magazine targeting an audience of 160 million - predominantly young women - together

with representatives from Lonely Planet, San Lian Life Weekly and other online media have arrived in Ireland for a week to learn more about two of Fáilte Ireland’s major tourism brands: the Wild Atlantic Way and Dublin – A Breath of Fresh Air.   
 The group is pictured in Sligo on a walking tour with Noelle Cawley, Fáilte Ireland.
 A tailored visit has been designed to promote Ireland to the Chinese market and is being hosted and managed by Fáilte Ireland in collaboration with Tourism Ireland.  For some of the visiting group this is their second time to Ireland but they have now returned to learn more and provide a deeper knowledge of Ireland to their readers.

Tourism Ireland has created a new online film showcasing some of our grand estates and glorious gardens, taking viewers on a tour of Ireland’s more ‘glamorous’ side!
 housevideo0717Titled "Great Houses, Castles and Gardens of Ireland", the video gives viewers a glimpse into some of the most beautiful properties and estates around the island of Ireland. From horticultural beauty to architectural grace, amazing interiors and even the opportunity to stay in some of these marvellous houses and castles, this video was created to encourage potential visitors to come and explore discover these fantastic places for themselves.
 
The film is being promoted through Tourism Ireland’s social platforms, including Facebook (almost 4 million fans worldwide), Twitter (403,000 followers) and YouTube.
