Star Wars Back in Kerry

‘Star Wars’ is returning to the Kerry with preparatory work for a fresh round of filming taking place on Ceann Sibéal on the Dingle Peninsula, where filming on the follow-up to 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens', is expected to begin in the next few months.

 In a statement the Irish Film Board said: “Permits for a project to film in Sybil Head have been granted by the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht.”

Irish for Sydney Gay Parade

There will be a green Ireland float once again this year in the parade of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras this weekend.
 The annual parade, now in its 38th year, takes place on Saturday (5 March) – with some 200,000 spectators expected to line the parade route to see the marchers and floats. It will also be broadcast on Australian TV to more than 425,000 viewers, with thousands more watching online.
 The Ireland float – led by Panti Bliss – will be one of the biggest in this year’s parade. It will celebrate Ireland and its strong connections to Australia and will be supported by Tourism Ireland and the Irish Consulate in Sydney.

 The team, which was led by Gareth Curran, Head Chef at Mossley Mill in Newtonabbey, took on competitors from Sodexo and Aramark to take first prize with a gourmet three-course meal that had to cost less than €12.50, take no more than two hours to make and be suitable for service in an industrial catering setting.

Dalata reports €28.5m profit

Revenue at Dalata, Ireland's largest hotel operator, soared 185pc up to €225.7m last year as the firm reported a pre-tax profit of €28.5m.
  2015 was a busy year of acquisitions for the company, which completed the purchases of Tara Towers in Dublin, the Clarion Hotel in Sligo, and a Dublin city centre site set to become a 181-room Clayton hotel.
In the company's annual results for 2015 Dalata reported a seven-fold increase on its EBITDA, hoisting it up to €62.6m.
 Dalata  says it will add a further '4,000 or 5,000' rooms to its total portfolio of 7,700 over the next five-to-seven years.
