Albatross lands in Donegal

Albatross Travel, one of the largest UK wholesale partners for group travel, together with their top UK clients, are in Ireland to learn more about Fáilte Ireland’s tourism brand,

albatross

the Wild Atlantic Way as they are including the stretch north of Galway, which includes Donegal, Sligo and Mayo, in their itineraries for 2018.  The visit of these twenty-two tour operators is hosted by Fáilte Ireland, in collaboration with sister agency Tourism Ireland.
Pictured are Dr. Prannie Rattigan, irish Seaweed Kitche, Eva Dearie, Failte Ireland and Elaine McGonigle, Doengal Craft Village.
Albatross Travel has a client base of UK and Irish coach operators who currently offer 21 tours to Ireland and have recently added a new tour to the Wild Atlantic Way – focussing in particular on north of Galway - to their 2018 brochure.  This tour is already selling exceptionally well among their clients and has the potential to extend further in 2019.

In addition to showcasing the Wild Atlantic Way to their top clients, the tour operators met with 14 local tourism providers that feature on their itinerary from Donegal, Sligo and Mayo at a networking evening in the Great Northern Hotel, Bundoran last evening.

Martin Donnelly, Fáilte Ireland’s Business Development Manager said–

“Fáilte Ireland’s Business Development Department has worked very closely with Tourism Ireland’s London office this year to ensure that we retain and where possible grow travel trade business from the UK.  This trip is the culmination of the work we have been doing, in that regard, with Albatross.

“We are confident that, having seen the wonderful range of products and experiences the northern half of the Wild Atlantic Way has to offer, new programming and incremental business for this beautiful part of Ireland can be won.”

Cormac O'Suilleabhain, Tourism Ireland commented:
"Tourism Ireland in conjunction with Failte Ireland are delighted to support the Albatross Travel trip to Ireland. By supporting trips such as this we hope to expose British tour operators to new hotel and visitor experiences which they can incorporate into these itineraries and allow British consumers to experience the best of what the island of Ireland has to offer"
