The German version of the popular reality TV show 'Come Dine With Me' is filming in Ireland this week.

Contestants are pictured taking part include (l-r) Folke Rohrssen, Tanja McCarthy, Ali Mitter, Susanne Durr and Melanie Unliy.
Called 'Das perfekte Dinner' (meaning ‘The Perfect Dinner’), five amateur German chefs are taking part in an ‘Ireland special’, which is airing to almost 1.4 million viewers at primetime every evening this week on VOX (German nationwide TV channel).
Recruitment for the amateur chefs took place in June, with assistance from Tourism Ireland. Over five nights this week, the contestants are attempting to ‘out-host’ one another, in a test of both their culinary and their party-hosting prowess. As well as featuring the contestants preparing and hosting their dinner party, viewers will also see footage of Dublin, Wicklow, Kildare, Cahir, Kinsale and West Cork.
Zoë Redmond, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Central Europe, said: “Das perfekte Dinner is really popular in Germany – so this is a fun and different way to showcase Ireland to a huge audience of potential German visitors. TV and film are recognised as strong influencers on holidaymakers and Tourism Ireland regularly works with TV and production companies around the world, to facilitate the making of travel and lifestyle programmes and films in Ireland. It’s a really effective way for us to get positive exposure for the destination.
