Belgians on WAW

A group of 25 Belgian tour operators including top niche operator Gallia, who currently includes Ireland in their itineraries, are touring the Wild Atlantic Way to learn more about Fáilte Ireland’s west coast coast tourism initiative. This is just one of a number of events designed, hosted and managed by Fáilte Ireland, in collaboration with Tourism Ireland, to promote the Wild Atlantic Way.
The operators are among some of the most influential buyers in Belgium and are here to see what Ireland and the Wild Atlantic Way has to offer their clients, with a view to creating a new programme for 2017. Fáilte Ireland designed a bespoke itinerary to give the operators a first-hand experience while in Ireland where they enjoyed a visit to counties Mayo and Galway.

Speaking about the trip, Ciara Sugrue, Head of International Publicity with Fáilte Ireland commented:
“We welcome the opportunity to showcase our tourism initiative the Wild Atlantic Way to these top Belgian tour operators.  These trips are a wonderful opportunity for tour operators to come and experience at first hand the Wild Atlantic Way and they are pivotal to positioning this Irish attraction in front of a global audience.

We trust that the tour operators enjoy their time along the Wild Atlantic Way and encourage their many customers to take the same journey and put it firmly on their ‘must-visit’ list. These Belgian operators have expressed an interest in learning more about Ireland and the Wild Atlantic Way which is a testimony to the strength of our attraction. Fáilte Ireland is delighted with this opportunity to promote and highlight what we have to offer with our history, culture, landscapes and pace of life being a big draw for Belgian visitors.”
